▷ Missing her | open rp
Mako’s eyes instantly grew as large as saucers as the voice he missed, and loved more than anything, filled the otherwise silent room. He whipped around in the matter of seconds, knocking the chair over without a care. As his gaze met Korra’s, he felt as if everything around them disappeared and they were the only things that mattered. “Korra..” He started softly, blinking a few times to make certain that he wasn’t dreaming. When he realized he wasn’t, he was quick to make his way over to Korra, slapping his arms around her in a tight embrace. The warmth her body gave off as he held it was greatly appreciated as cool night air was seeping in through the open window. Keeping her as close as possible, he laid his chin on top her head and sighed. “I can’t believe you’re here. I- I haven’t seen you in what feels like weeks.”
Letting a soft smile cross her lips, Korra returned his hug affectionately. Boy, had she missed him. Her arms wrapped around his waist tightly as she relished the familiar warmth that only Mako could give. Her grin widened as her cheek brushed the soft material of his ever-present scarf. She leaned back slightly to look up at him, her head tilting to the side slightly. “Missed me that much, huh?” she asked, a teasing edge to her voice. “Don’t worry I missed you, too.” With a small sigh, she rested her forehead on his shoulder. “It’s been far too long since we’ve last seen each other.” Her fingers idly traced patterns on the dark cloth of his uniform. “I hat to admit it, but life has been pretty boring without you.”
Mako chuckled softly as he rested a hand on her shoulder, aimlessly playing with the end of her wolf tail. The happiness he felt upon seeing her was evident by the smile that wouldn’t even begin to leave his face. Korra, even now, was one of the few who got to see him like this- completely relaxed, completely content with everything. Just a little over a year ago if somebody had told him this would be his life soon, he would have never believed them and for good reasons too, who would ever expect the Avatar to fall for a street rat?
“Boring, eh?” he asked, his voice nothing more than a low hum, “the Korra I know never gets bored,” he goes on to say, giving her a wide grin. It was almost impossible to believe how much Mako had changed in such a short time, all thanks to woman in his arms. ”You know, I’m really glad I’m going to be getting a break soon,” he began, meeting her gaze, That way, we can spend more time together.”
